.

Why did you decide to apply for an internship abroad?

I applied for the internship in New Zealand as it is a fantastic oppourtunity to visit a beautiful part of the world and to embrace and learn from other cultures.

I think this will open my mind up to trying new things and to new experiences. I feel it will also look good on my CV and hopefully make me stand out from the crowd in a competitive industry.

.

What are you most looking forward to in New Zealand?

I’m looking forward to meeting new people and working in a different environment and culture in New Zealand and learning how the hospitality and events industry varies from our culture in Scotland.

.

What do you hope to achieve/learn on your internship abroad?

I hope to learn more about international business and how they deal with the UK to encourage visitors; I would also be keen to experience how events are dealt with within the industry.

.

How do you think this will help you in the future?

I expect this to have a positive impact on possible employers, showing that I am willing to travel and learn. Also showing commitment to my course, I feel this also shows that I am quite a confident, outgoing person which I think is vital in this industry.

.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you?

I am unbelievably excited, at the moment I’d say I’m around an 8 on a scale or 1-10, only 8 as so far I have no confirmed placement and this is worrying me as I’ve already handed in my notice and agreed to sub let my flat!! Also a bit anxious about the recent earthquakes in Christchurch and hoping that everything is ok and it will have minimal impact on my goals.
