.

.

Why did you decide to apply for a hospitality placement internship abroad?

I believe that I will get an amazing experience from working abroad, enabling me to learn new skills and cultures. I want to witness how hotel’s work in a country different to my own, and how well I can adapt to different lifestyles. In working abroad, it also gives me a perfect opportunity to travel, I have been to Australia before, but was not able to see what the country fully has to offer!

.

How do you think this will help you in the future?

In working abroad independently, it will allow me to me more confident in everything I do, and enhance my career prospects for the future. Having successfully worked abroad for 6 months, my CV will be stronger as it will establish that I can manage a long time from my normal daily life.

.

What are you most looking forward to in Australia?

Having been to Australia before, I love how their way of life is so different from England. I’m excited to learn new skills and enhance my knowledge from what I have learnt from university so far. As Australia is such a tourist destination, I am keen in meeting new people, from all ages and backgrounds.

.

What do you hope to achieve/ learn on your internship abroad?

Not only do I want to gain new experiences but I also want to meet new friends and see how people ‘down under’ live. In working in a high end hotel, I hope to establish what type of area of hospitality I wish to work in the future. I have learnt a lot from University already, however I wish to put it all into practice and learn the skills in the work place.

.

How do you think future employers will view your time abroad?

I hope that they view my time working for them as a brave and smart thing to pursue. In working away from all my friends and family, I believe that it will give me the confidence to work and travel anywhere I wish to go in the future.

.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you?

10! Very excited to experience a lifestyle full of sun, surf and amazing hotel experience! The chance to work abroad is an amazing opportunity – one that won’t come across often, so I hope to take full advantage of this opportunity and learn as much as I can.
