Definitely enjoying the Rugby World Cup Atmosphere!!! The opening was Awesome!!

I am slowly settling in now, and getting use to the new life I have here. Oh I hope you will tell the students what an awesome new experience it is for them!!!

.

How was your first week of work, did you have induction?

Well before I start work, I had 2 induction days discussing about the hotel values, facilities, how each department is run etc. First week was a bit nervous because I didn’t know what to do, where to go, I even went to the men changing room by accident.. cause the hotel was so big! It was Funny. I really enjoy it the first week and everything was really fascinating

.

How are the people at your work, are they friendly, easy to ask questions?

The colleagues are Super Nice, people are very fun, talkative and very easy to talk to. You can ask them anything and they will direct you or try to help you some how even if they don’t know. They always have a smile on their faces and keep the workflow going through out the day.

.

Are there any interns in your hotel or city that you have caught up with?

There are a few interns at my hotel, I had a few chances to catch up with them, but however I didn’t quite stick with them, as I felt like I wanted to meet more new people. Some times you wouldn’t believe that there are such people that exist!  You will meet all sorts of new people, It is diverse and definitely one of the most multicultural countries that I’ve been too. Just Fabulous!!!!

.

Describe a Typical Day at work for you?

My typical day at work would be to get to work about 20 mins before and get changed into my uniform and head to back office and must always check what we call ” Daily Legend” which gives ALL staff a brief summary of what’s happening in the hotel Everyday, going from functions, to staff birthdays to all sorts. Must check E-mails to see what has been changed or I need to do. Then head out to the Front office and do my role and daily tasks etc.

.

How are you liking living abroad?

I absolutely love living abroad!!! Feels great and free, it was a great choice to come out here really. It took me about over a week to find accommodation to live in the city area, I now live in a one person studio apartment. =]

.

What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

One of the most challenging thing for me would be coping everything by my self, definitely missing people, home and family back at home.

However It is so far one of the best thing that has happened to me. I am v glad that I made this choice.
